We're just two months away from hosting "WIN2010," considered Connecticut's premier indoor winter tournament for U-9 through U-18 boys and girls and, your organization's biggest fundraising event. Once again, we've expanded the tournament to include outdoor small-sided matches for U12 - 18 players.
But, it takes more than two middle-aged guys to put on a two-day tournament for more than 1,000 kids --and their families.
Many of your children will participate in WIN2010 -- scheduled for March 13 and 14 -- along with teams from the surrounding communities, New England and the Greater New York area. It's an event that not only raises significant funding for the Coleman Brothers Foundationbut also reflects the WSA's commitment to the kids and families of Westport and the soccer community.
But, time is short and we urgently need your help.
We're asking volunteers to help us run the indoor competition (U9-11)and to help oversee outdoor play (U12 - U18).
In addition, we need volunteers to help with registration, food, logistics, scoring, ad sales, setup/breakdown, cleanup -- and more.
Putting this tournament on is a logistical challenge, but with a dedicated group of volunteers executing a proven operating plan -- and, the commitment of the WSA board to once again make this event a success -- WIN2010 will continue to be the region's premier winter soccer event.
To that end we invite you to attend an organizational meeting on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20 at 7:30 PM in Green Room at the Westport Town Hall.
